‘cause I feel like everyone skips past the first season just to watch David Tennant or Matt Smith. While I do like those two doctors better than Nine, I still appreciate what Eccleston brought to the show. None of my friends really like him though. =/
I loved Nine, even if Eleven is my favorite
I loved Nine, too. I don’t understand all the hate he gets.
He gets hate? Obviously I’m following the right people.
The 9th Doctor IS THE FUCKING BEST. I feel like such an obsessive/over-the-top fan whenever I get indignant when a friend starts watching but skips Eccleston. “HOW? How can you just… just SKIP THE 9TH DOCTOR?!”
Seriously now. He’s the Doctor that brought back the show, that introduced Doctor Who to a whole new generation. Maybe he isn’t as “pretty” as Tennant or Matt, but he’s a damn good actor and a fantastic Doctor. How can you just skip an entire Doctor like that, especially one so important to the new series?!
To be quite frank, I’d rather have Eccleston back for another run than Tennant. Between Eccleston and Tennant, I’ll choose the former every time. Yes, he wasn’t most people’s definition of “pretty” or “sexy” just because he didn’t look like he was twenty. Yes, he wasn’t as happy-go-lucky a Doctor as his predecessors. And’s that’s because he was the regeneration immediately after the Time War. His entire race, including his granddaughter, had just died. By his hands. Anyone with a sane mind in their skull isn’t gonna be terribly chipper after something like that. It was a traumatizing event, and it showed. He’d look and act fine, and then something like “Dalek” would happen and it would be very clear that he was not, in any sense of the word, fine. He was a broken, angry, shell of a person.
But he’s the Doctor that told a Dalek “No," that told a Dalek fleet to back off. He’s the Doctor that brought us "I like bananas. Bananas are good!" He brought back the Daleks, gave us Captain Jack Harkness, Rose Tyler, Mickey Smith and Harriet Jones (MP for Flydale North). The 9th Doctor introduced the first wave of fans to the new series. He was the stepping stone between the old and the new. That was his job, and he did a damn good job doing it.
I try, and tend to be, very understanding when someone doesn’t like the same things as me. Diff’rint strokes for diff’rint folks and all that. But whenever I see “Eccleston was a horrible Doctor and he’s so ugly. Man, the show sucked before Tennant showed up.” or anything of the like?
What if everyone saw colors differently But we’ve already been taught what colors are what So we’d never know that we saw them differently Because they all have the same name to us
things i think while spacing out in class
these questions keep me up at night
i thought i was the only one who thought about this
i just had this discussion in my philosophy class the other night
apparently it’s a pretty popular question
we also talked about the existence of numbers and wether their existence is legitimate or if they’re just an abstract human invention, and if a world could exist without the invention of numbers
basically this class makes my head hurt
this question has plagued me for years
See I think about things like this a LOT. This, and stupid shit like “I wonder what people hear MY language as? I know a language I don’t know sounds like gibberish to me, but what does mine sound like to someone that doesn’t know it?”
