Hey Barty tag can we just talk for a minute about how Ptolemy refused to use Bartimaeus’ true name and called him “Rekhyt” instead
not because of the slave connotations of it
but because he considered it impolite to use “Bartimaeus” when that name holds such a huge measure of power over Bart, and he didn’t want to imply or assume that he did in fact have that kind of control over Rekhyt.
Because it was his dream to have spirits and humans working together side by side as friends, instead of the spirits being enslaved and made to do a magicians’ bidding.
